One of the premier events on the Norfolk Island sporting calendar, the annual Hardys Wines
Pro-Am Golf Classic, is on again from 24 – 29 August 2014.
The tournament is open to professional and amateur golfers, many of whom travel each year from the Australian mainland, to compete for an attractive prize pool on a spectacular course that borders the crystal clear South Pacific Ocean and is the only course in the world to be nestled within an historic world heritage listed area.
Amateurs will play a 72-hole stroke Stableford event for over $13,500 worth of prizes whilst professionals will play a 72-hole stroke event for $20,000 in prizes. Six jackets will be presented to the winners of some of the big tournament sections, with each one being represented by a different coloured logo.
The five-day event will include daily presentations after the golf, with everyone invited to spend their evenings indulging in Norfolk-style food, wine and entertainment. Feature activities will include the Professional and Amateur Calcutta on 26 June and traditional Fish Fry on 28 June.
The price of an amateur entry into the tournament is $250 per person with an additional $45 per person for the presentation dinner ticket.
