Norfolk Island has been named as a Top 10 South Pacific Island in the 2014 TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice™ awards.

The awards, announced in February, honour top travel spots based on millions of valuable reviews and opinions from TripAdvisor travellers discussing their favourite and most highly rated places.

This latest accolade follows on from the many positive reviews which are placed on TripAdvisor throughout the year recognising the island’s outstanding and diverse tourism product – for example, a stay at Endeavour Lodge - ”Fabulous! Fabulous! Fabulous!” and “Brilliant! All you could want and more”; dining at Norfolk Blue Restaurant Grill & Bar – “The best steak ever” and “Fantastic meal and service”; a relaxing day at Emily Bay – “Lovely, lovely beach” and “The most beautiful bay I have ever been to”; and a tour of Fletcher’s Mutiny Cyclorama – “Not to be missed” and “WOW”.

Norfolk Island Tourism General Manager, Glen Buffett, said the close-knit island community was thrilled and proud of this wonderful recognition for the popular short-haul holiday destination for Australians, which offers an array of exciting and fascinating lifestyle, activity, adventure, dining and cultural experiences.

“It is the diversity in nature, history and activities on Norfolk Island that makes it unique”, said Mr Buffett.

“As a Pacific Island destination, we are constantly surprising visitors with the myriad of options available to them – from spectacular beaches, World Heritage historic areas to explore, nature walks and a pristine golf course, to seasonal, island grown fresh food from our many restaurants and cafes.

“There’s so much more to Norfolk Island and it is great to see travellers sharing their positive experiences online.”
